The story behind our inspiration…


The story of the OFELIA brand is truly inspiring and deeply rooted in a profound connection with nature, particularly the delicate and magnificent ecosystem of coral reefs. The brand's creator, after diving in some of the world's most significant reefs, felt a strong commitment to share the incredible beauty and diversity hidden beneath the ocean waves. This inspiration led to the reproduction of images captured by Australian photographer Greg Hills on clothing.

The journey began on a sailboat, sailing from Panama to the paradises of the South Pacific. The vastness of the ocean, the vibrant colors, and the exotic shapes of the coral reefs, along with the marine life that inhabits them, ignited in Ofelia an indescribable passion and deep respect for nature. It was during this time that she felt the need to give back to the oceans that had given her so much.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ofelia was in Fiji, living on her sailboat named O2. Far from her family and surrounded by worrying news about an uncertain future, she found peace and hope beneath the ocean waves. She realized that if there is a chance for eternal life in this world, it lies hidden in the secrets of the marine universe. Ofelia describes this experience as the most wonderful of her life.

This profound experience inspired Ofelia to create the first garments with original images of marine life. She handcrafted over 150 stoles, which received overwhelming acceptance. This success motivated her to launch a beautiful project to showcase some of the wonders of the vital marine ecosystem.

With the creation of OFELIA, a name that means "the one who helps," the brand focuses on creating timeless design pieces where each print tells a story and makes us dream of hidden paradises beneath the ocean waves. OFELIA is a tribute to natural beauty and a call to action to protect the oceans and our planet—without them, life would not be possible.
